How to Practice Effective Parenthood

For a child’s development, it is vital to have a loving and supportive parent. The most influential and important people in the lives and development of young children are their parents and other primary caregivers. They provide the resources and tools necessary for their children to live well, prosper, and ultimately become happy, healthy adults.

Increase self-esteem for your child

Children begin to see themselves through their parents’ eyes when they are first born. Children absorb everything you say and do. This includes your body language, facial expressions, and body language. Your words and actions as a parent can have a profound impact on their self-esteem.

Watch your child behave well

Encourage your child to behave well when they are doing so. Poor actions, constant criticism and persistent demoralization can negatively impact your child’s self-esteem. Ever wonder how often you treat your child poorly each day? If you see your child doing something worthy of praise, say kind words about him without hesitation.

Establish boundaries and follow the rules

Every home needs discipline. Discipline is designed to teach children how to choose appropriate behavior and to develop self-control. While they may be able to push the boundaries that you have set for your children, these boundaries are essential for them to become responsible adults.

Time for your children

Parents and children can find it difficult to share a meal together or spend meaningful time together. They would rather spend quality time with their parents than anything else. Get up at 10 a.m. if you would like to have breakfast together. You can take a walk after dinner if you don’t want the dishes to wash.

Show unwavering love

Because children might believe certain things about themselves, conditions can lead to them feeling unloved by their parents. Parents must demand self-esteem from their children when confronted. Instead of condemning and pointing fingers, offer to work together to solve the problem.
