Breast Cancer Prevention Techniques

Breast cancer can strike at any time. This disease can affect women of all ages. Early detection is crucial to prevent the disease from becoming a serious problem. Breast cancer symptoms should not be ignored by women. You need to get immediate medical attention if you want control of your condition.

Keep a healthy weight

A healthy weight is something that everyone should strive for. Overeating is a problem for women aged 30 and older. Being overweight, especially after menopause can increase the risk of breast cancer and other malignancies. Regular exercise and a healthy diet are important to control your weight.

Avoid using hormone replacement

Menopausal hormone therapy can increase breast cancer risk. If you have to take hormones containing progesterone, do not use them more than three years. Bioidentical hormones, hormonal lotions, and gels are not as safe as pharmaceutical hormones.

Get moving

Staying active is key to staying healthy. You can lower your chances of getting cancer by exercising at least 30 minutes per day, five days per week. Exercise can help reduce your chance of developing cancer by helping you maintain a healthy weight.

Avoid using birth control after age 35

There are advantages and disadvantages to birth control pills. Women younger than 35 years old are less likely to be exposed. Birth control tablets are slightly more likely to cause breast cancer in women who use them. This risk vanishes as soon as the pill is stopped. There is an increased risk of stroke and heart attack when you use the pill, particularly if you smoke. But, continuing to use the pill can provide many benefits, including a lower risk of colon, ovarian and uterine cancer. Breastfeed your baby breast milk as long as possible. Breast cancer risk is lower if mothers breastfeed for at least one year.
